因香气滋味有似桂皮香，肉桂在习惯上又名玉桂。它的外形条索云整卷曲，色泽褐绿，油润有光。干茶嗅之有甜香，冲泡后之茶汤，特具奶油、花果、桂皮般的香气，入口醇厚回甘，咽后齿颊流香，茶汤橙黄清澈，叶底匀亮，呈淡绿底红镶边，冲泡四五次仍有余香。
